What Is CIPP Pipe Relining?
Trenchless CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) relining for cracked, fractured, root-damaged drains and sewers โ without excavation.
CIPP pipe relining is the modern, trenchless way to repair damaged drainage. A resin-impregnated felt liner is inserted into the existing pipe through an access point, inflated, and cured in place to form a new, smooth, jointless pipe inside the old one. No paving lifted, no garden destroyed, no driveway dug up. Suitable for residential drains, commercial sewers, stormwater lines and shared complex infrastructure.
When To Call
- Cracked, fractured or partially collapsed drain pipe (confirmed by CCTV)
- Recurring root intrusion at the same joint
- Old clay, fibre-cement or pitch-fibre pipes deteriorating
- Repair quote received that involves excavating paving or driveways
- Pipe runs under a structure, slab or established landscaping
- Body corporate or estate needing minimal-disruption repair
- Recurring blockages caused by pipe defects (not just debris)
- Drains backing up after every heavy rain
How We Work
- CCTV pre-survey to confirm CIPP suitability and measure defects
- Full drain clean and prep (high-pressure jetting if needed)
- Liner cut to length and impregnated with epoxy or polyester resin
- Liner inserted and inflated to take the shape of the host pipe
- Cure cycle (ambient, hot water or UV โ depending on system)
- Post-cure CCTV verification and report
- Reinstatement of branch connections where applicable
- Workmanship and material warranty documentation

CIPP Pipe Relining FAQ.
What is CIPP relining?
CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place Pipe. A resin-impregnated felt liner is inserted into the damaged drain and cured (hardened) in place, forming a new structural pipe inside the old one. The result is a smooth, jointless, root-resistant pipe with a design life of 50+ years.
How long does CIPP last?
Properly installed CIPP liners have a design life of around 50 years. The cured liner is structural โ meaning it carries the full pipe load even if the original pipe deteriorates further around it.
Is CIPP cheaper than digging?
Often yes โ especially when the damaged pipe runs under paving, driveways, slabs, gardens or established landscaping. The cost of excavation, reinstatement and landscaping repair usually exceeds the cost of CIPP relining itself.
Can any pipe be relined?
Most can โ within the right diameter range and provided the pipe still holds its shape. Fully collapsed pipes need excavation. We confirm suitability with a CCTV pre-survey before quoting.
How fast can you respond?
Same-day callback to confirm appointments. Most jobs in Gauteng are scheduled within 24-48 hours. Emergency blockages get priority slots.
Where do you work?

What Is CIPP Pipe Relining?
Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining repairs a broken underground or in-wall pipe from the inside. A resin-saturated liner is installed through existing access points, pressed against the host pipe wall and cured into a hard, jointless structural pipe โ without digging up driveways, breaking floors or demolishing walls. It is the standard trenchless repair for cracked sewers, root-damaged drains, corroded cast-iron stacks and degraded fibre-cement lines across South Africa.
When Relining Is The Right Call
- Cracked, fractured or collapse-prone clay sewer pipes
- Recurring root intrusion at pipe joints
- Corroded cast iron soil stacks inside buildings
- Degraded fibre-cement (asbestos) pipes โ encapsulated safely in place
- Leaking pipes under driveways, paving, pools, floors or structures
- Any line where excavation costs more than the repair itself
When Relining Is Not Suitable
- Fully collapsed pipes with no open bore for the liner
- Severely deformed pipes beyond roughly 30% ovality
- Lines with multiple sharp misaligned joints that block inversion
- Pipes that are grossly undersized for the property's flow
- In these cases we recommend pipe bursting or sectional excavation โ and tell you honestly before any work starts
